Hi, and welcome to my page!
I am Palomi Kurade, a minority and diversity researcher in Social and Behavioral Sciences. I am a Postgraduate Research Associate at the XRPeds, Yale School of Medicine. I graduated with an M.Sc. in Applied Psychology in May 2024 from the Central University of Andhra Pradesh. I completed my B.Sc. in Psychology, Human Development, and Family Resource Management in 2022 from the University of Mysore. Through my work, I examine discrimination behaviors, stereotypes, internalized stigma, and social inequalities for individuals with marginalized identities across Global South and Global North cultural contexts.
Prior to working at XRPeds, I worked as a postgraduate research associate with Yale School of Public Health's Yale LGBTQ Mental Health Initiative. I was the former Lab Manager and Research Assistant at the PWR Lab at Florida International University and a former Research Intern at Evolve, a mental health application for LGBTQIA+ individuals. I previously worked as a research assistant at Stony Brook University and the Association of Child Brain Research.
In addition to my role as a researcher, I founded Research Mynd, where I would provide research training to underrepresented students in social sciences.
When I'm not engaged in academic work, I enjoy crocheting, swimming, reading, painting, and spending time with animals!
